Body Love. Support.
A few weeks ago I talked about my struggles with comparison while at church. Today I had the pleasure of attending church with my husband. This is a great rarity with his demanding schedule. We were also blessed to sit with a friend from our last church family that has also relocated out here. This dynamic made a substantial impact on my own comparison issues. With the anchor of people who value me now and in the past I didn’t find myself needing to pause and refocus my energy. I was already in a peaceful place. While I don’t mean to imply that other people are the source of my peace; that falls to God alone. I do think that surrounding myself with good people helps to reinforce peace with me body. This isn’t a startling revelation.
October 25: Today I love myself enough to recognize my need for deep friendships and connections, ones that allow me to be authentic and peaceful.
My picture for today has nothing to do with my body love statement. I am actually preparing the menu plan for the week amid a stack of venison I had just canned. Today was full of wonderful Sunday stuff, simple stuff, but my husband was home and present today. We canned venison, he took the boys bike riding, I started a new painting project that required a high ladder and my husband to spot me, and we ate together as a family. Lovely simple Sunday stuff.
Frugal Self-Care Today: A leisurely afternoon that was extraordinarily productive. Followed by family movie night, where we introduced our boys to Back 2 the Future II. So much fun watching the movie again and watching my boys reactions as they watched the movie.
9 Two people are better than one because together they have a good reward for their hard work. 10 If one falls, the other can help his friend get up. But how tragic it is for the one who is all alone when he falls. There is no one to help him get up. 11 Again, if two people lie down together, they can keep warm, but how can one person keep warm? 12 Though one person may be overpowered by another, two people can resist one opponent. A triple-braided rope is not easily broken. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (GW)
